About Brookston, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Brookston, Indiana is a White County town found in Prairie Township. As of 2010, the population of this community was roughly 1,500. In terms of geography, Brookston is also quite small, encompassing only 0.66 square miles of total area. Brookston is located 112 miles southeast of Chicago and 73 miles northwest of the capital city of Indianapolis.

There are a variety of things to see and do in Brookston. Since 1978, Brookston has hosted the annual Brookston Apple Popcorn Festival in September. This festival offers food, contests, vendors, musical entertainments, and yard sales. Horseback riding is popular at the Rosebud Ranch Horse Stables and the Therapeion Therapeutic Riding Center. Other popular destinations in Brookston include the Brookston Art Center and the Wildcat Valley Rifle and Pistol Club.

Residents of Brookston only have a short distance to travel to find other exciting things to see and do. Wolf Park, which is a conservation facility that features live wolves, is located in nearby Battle Ground, Indiana. Outdoor recreation can be enjoyed at West Lafayette’s Prophetstown State Park, and families that are looking for a day of fun may prefer a jaunt to the Indiana Beach Amusement Resort in Monticello.

Brookston is part of a humid continental climate zone, and this means that four distinct seasons will be experienced throughout the year. Summers in Brookston tend to be hot and humid, which could lead to dangerous conditions when temperatures surpass 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Without a cool place to beat the heat, residents could be at risk of suffering from a heat-related illness.

During the winters, Brookston residents are often required to hide out indoors to escape frigid temperatures and snowfall. A reliable furnace or heat pump is essential to keep homes warm and their residents comfortable. These systems can also improve air quality, removing dust, allergens, and other particles from the stale, winter air that is circulating indoors all season.
